Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony was a commercial success and was generally well received by critics, who praised the scenario and gameplay. The trials feature logical puzzles as well as shooter sections. The player controls Kaede and Shuichi Saihara and interacts with the other characters in the form dating sim-like events, investigate murders and perform in "Class Trials" to uncover the murderer.
The game primarily follows Kaede Akamatsu and fifteen other high school students with talented skills who are trapped in a killing game where the culprit must remain innocent or be executed. It was written by Kazutaka Kodaka and Takayuki Sugawara. The game is the third numbered Danganronpa video game. This improved version is also currently planned for Android and iOS. An enhanced version of V3 with the subtitle Anniversary Edition was released on the Nintendo Switch in Japan in November 2021, and was released in the rest of the world in December 2021. A Microsoft Windows version was released worldwide on the same date. The game was released in Japan in January 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, and in North America and Europe by NIS America in September 2017.
